Frisbee Box

A frisbeekastje is a small public cabinet filled with frisbees that anyone can borrow. Take a disc, find someone to throw with and return it when you’re done. There are now dozens of these cabinets across the Netherlands, inviting people to play, spend time outdoors and meet each other.

The idea reflects the values of ultimate frisbee, a sport in which honesty, respect and fair play are central. Players take responsibility for following the rules and resolving disagreements together. This is called the Spirit of the Game.

The question people ask most often is: “Don’t the frisbees get stolen?” In practice, they rarely do. The cabinets start from trust, and people tend to return that trust—along with the frisbees. A small gesture that makes room for play and connection.
