Sisyphus

In Sisyphus, I rolled a giant red ball through public spaces, repeating the same journey. For one week, I took it to work and back; at festivals, I walked the same loop all day. Inspired by the Greek myth and Albert Camus’s reflections on the absurd, I explored repetition, perseverance and the meaning we give to what we do.

The performance often made passers-by smile and sparked conversations. I asked them: “Where are you heading? And what does that destination mean to you?” These encounters explored an idea at the heart of the work: something is only meaningless if we can find no meaning in it ourselves.

Alongside the performance, I developed a keynote inviting people to reflect on what gives their lives meaning, what makes a destination worth pursuing and what keeps them moving when the journey becomes difficult.
